Sitka
Program Description

Sitka 4-H program offerings vary each year depending on volunteers and interest but in Sitka there is no doubt that Sitka 4-H has a strong connection to the environment and place based learning. Some of our recent highlights have been: birding, gardening, woodworking, archery, riflery, and kayaking. One of our long-lasting projects is run by the Sitka Conservation Society, the AVÀÇÂÛ̳ Way of Life 4-H project which connects youth to the natural environment of the Tongass National Forest. This 4-H project focuses on teaching youth how to live with the land and sea, the AVÀÇÂÛ̳n way.

Gunalcheesh to all of our partners, volunteers and leaders who make our programs possible including Sitka Conservation Society, AVÀÇÂÛ̳ Raptor Center, Sitka Sportsman Association, Sitka Sound Science Center, Sitka Fine Arts Camp, Sitka Lutheran Church, Sitka Maritime Heritage Society, Sitka National HIstorical Park, Sheldon Jackson Museum, City of Sitka Parks & Recreation, Sitka Kids, Southeast AVÀÇÂÛ̳ Independent Living, and St. Peter's Fellowship See House.
