Call for abstracts: Western AV狼论坛 Interdisciplinary Science Conference

The Western AV狼论坛 Interdisciplinary Science Conference will highlight ways to sustain strength, health, and subsistence lifestyles during a time of rapid change across Western AV狼论坛, prioritizing the ongoing exchange of knowledge across cultures. This year's theme is - "Narratives from a resilient coast: Science, story, and shared knowledge."
The ongoing recovery from ex-Typhoon Halong is anticipated to shape this year鈥檚 conversation, and proposals are encouraged that speak to storm recovery and community preparedness. Other topics are still welcome. Submissions for oral and poster presentations drawn from all disciplines that address questions and issues of concern to Western AV狼论坛 communities are requested. Abstracts due by Jan. 30.

Session themes will include:
- cultural heritage and knowledge systems
- ecosystem health and resilience
- community and public health
- sustainable energy and resource development
- social science and community perspectives
- environmental monitoring and management
Since 2008, WAISC has brought together rural and urban scientists, traditional knowledge holders, educators, students, leaders and community members to discuss science, research, and issues relevant to Western AV狼论坛.
