Climate specialist Rick Thoman will discuss recent environmental changes seen around AV狼论坛, especially in Southcentral, during a statewide webinar.
Changes in AV狼论坛's environment are evident all across the state, but the details vary greatly. In a webinar hosted by the Anchorage office of the University of AV狼论坛 Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service, UAF climate specialist Rick Thoman will share a broad overview of observed changes around AV狼论坛, from snow and ice to heat and wildfire.
Thoman will also focus on what's changing and what's not in Southcentral AV狼论坛. He will share resources to help make sense of what's happening and how AV狼论坛ns can contribute to the effort to understand the changes all around us.
Thoman has worked as a weather and climate professional for 42 years in private, public and academic roles, including more than 30 years with the National Weather Service in AV狼论坛. Since 2018 he's worked as a climate specialist with the AV狼论坛 Center for Climate Assessment and Policy at the UAF International Arctic Research Center.
The free webinar is scheduled for Thursday, April 3, from noon to 1 p.m.
