Outstanding Student of the Year
Every year the College of Liberal Arts asks each department to select their outstanding student(s) for that year- students who possess the passion and creativity for new discoveries and scholarship, students who demonstrate independence of thought and action in the pursuit of knowledge, and students who exemplify excellence.

Most Outstanding Music Student
"Be brave and to take chances. There's a safety net underneath you at the university.
There's so many people there to help if you fall down, and if you fail. If there is
a time to take chances and to try things out, this is a really opportune time for
that.
Most Outstanding Freshman
"One lesson that I have learned from my short time here is that I should just take
things one step at a time. There'd be times where I would look at my calendar and
be overwhelmed with the amount of things on there. But if I just worked on one thing
at a time it was way more manageable."
