Join us for the Toolik x ARC LTER All Scientists Meeting, held jointly this year by Toolik Field Station and the Arctic LTER.
Jan. 13-14, 2027 in Santa Barbara, CA
The two-day meeting is a place to spark conversation, inspire new ideas, and garner feedback amongst the Toolik community. All are welcome to join for science talks, poster presentations, and breakout discussions/workshops. This year, we’ll host it jointly with the to boost collaboration amongst our communities.
A current project at the station is not required, only interest in Arctic science and thoughts about how Toolik services can best support future research and education. In-person attendance will be limited to 120 people. Attendees can also register to attend virtually.
Limited travel support is available for graduate students, post-docs, and early career researchers. Please indicate in the registration form if you are requesting travel support. Requests for travel assistance must be submitted by Nov. 23
We look forward to hearing community needs and fostering collaboration and synergy among research groups and staff!
The meeting will be held at and on Zoom on Jan. 13-14. Registration/check-in begins at 8:00 am each morning at the Business Center, and presentations start at 8:30 am. A is available. The buildings are ADA accessible, and you don’t need a permit to park since classes aren't in session.
Travel to Santa Barbara
By air:
There are and the Santa Barbara Airport (SBA).
Alternatively, the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is located about 90 miles from Santa Barbara. The travel between LAX and Santa Barbara multiple times a day.
We recommend flying into the Santa Barbara Airport and taking a taxi or rideshare service to your hotel.
There are that run between SBA and the city center, but please note that transit times would be about an hour or more by bus.
By train:
Santa Barbara also has a local Amtrak station that's serviced by the Pacific Surfliner and Coast Starlight routes. The station is conveniently located within walking distance of the hotels with discounted room blocks.

Dinner tickets cost $15 for students and $25 for non-students.
The Toolik Field Station Code of Conduct and Sexual Misconduct Policy applies at all times throughout the course of the meeting. Anyone requested to stop prohibited behavior is expected to comply immediately. Failure to comply with the meeting code could result in immediate removal from the meeting and prohibited attendance at Toolik Field Station and other Toolik events.
